CODE OF ETHICS

A regulatory ethical framework

It is common for national associations of psychotherapists to adopt and follow in principle the Code of Ethics of larger umbrella organisations, such as the European Association for Psychotherapists (EAP). By following and aligning with the EAP's Code of Ethics, the Malta Association for Psychotherapists (MAP) ensures that its members have a regulatory ethical framework and parameter that they adhere to and that can guide them. The MAP in following suit EAP's ethical code that it provides to its members widely accepted ethical standards that govern the practice of psychotherapy at European level.

As the National Umbrella Organisation for Malta, the MAP's recognition by relevant stakeholders, competent authorities, and the EAP underscores its commitment to upholding professional standards, promoting ethical conduct, and safeguarding the well-being of both psychotherapists and clients as well as the integrity of the profession.
